Spain: Yamal Targeted by a Complaint After His Birthday Party
FC Barcelona winger, Lamine Yamal, has been under strong controversy in Spain following the celebration of his 18th birthday, organized last July 13th.

Lamine Yamal is officially an adult. The Spanish prodigy celebrated his 18th birthday this Sunday, a symbolic milestone in the life of the FC Barcelona winger. For the occasion, the young international went big, organizing a lavish party.
But the event is already at the center of intense controversy in Spain, with certain aspects of the evening sparking debate in the country. According to information from the daily AS, the party allegedly included the presence of people affected by dwarfism, hired for entertainment purposes.
This decision has sparked outrage from the Spanish Association of People Affected by Achondroplasia and Other Skeletal Dysplasias, which condemned the discriminatory practice and announced its intention to pursue legal and media action against the Spanish international.
“The Association strongly condemns the use of people affected by dwarfism as entertainment elements in the celebration of Lamine Yamal, and will take legal and public actions “, stated an official press release relayed by AS. To date, neither the player nor FC Barcelona have publicly responded to the controversy.
On the field, however, Yamal is coming off a brilliant season with the blaugrana jersey. Hard-hitting and decisive, the young winger greatly contributed to the Liga – Copa del Rey double achieved by Hansi Flick’s men. For the coming season, he is touted to inherit the legendary number 10, once worn by Lionel Messi.
