Nigerian Afro-beat superstar Davido has finally settled a complex legal affair. He was previously involved in a legal dispute for failing to appear at a festival in Nigeria’s Delta State, despite being fully paid.

Indeed, Davido was scheduled to perform at the ‘Warri Again’ event last year. He had received his full fee of $94,000 and enjoyed costly arrangements, such as the rental of a private jet for $18,000, generously provided by the organizer, Amaju Pinnick, the former president of the Nigeria Football Federation. However, the singer did not show up, leading to substantial losses for the event promoter.

Following this no-show, the promoter decided to sue Davido. After eight months of proceedings, the two parties have reached an agreement: Davido will perform at the next edition of ‘Warri Again’ without remuneration, and he is also required to pay 30 million euros, approximately 19 billion CFA francs, as damages to Amaju Pinnick.

This settlement aims to definitively close the dispute in broad daylight. Davido’s commitment to adhering to the terms of the agreement is crucial to resolving this financial dispute that has tarnished his image and status in the music industry, not only in Nigeria but also on the international scene.
