On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Gabon’s President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema marked the back-to-school season like any parent, by accompanying his children to school.
Surrounded by his children and several teachers, the Head of State visited classrooms and the schoolyard, interacting with students and greeting staff. “Before being President of the Republic, I am a father who takes his children to school,” he wrote.
In his message, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema stressed the importance of parental involvement in academic success.
“Parental support in a child’s schooling is essential for their success. Whatever our responsibilities, we must be present.”
The President also congratulated teachers, acknowledging “the crucial role they play in passing on knowledge.” He encouraged students to “work hard, stay curious, and study diligently,” emphasizing that their future depends on their commitment.
This gesture, which humanizes the presidential role, is intended as an example of both civic and family engagement.
