Women’s AFCON 2025: Ghana unveils a list of 24 players
Ghana has unveiled its official list of players selected for the final stage of the Women’s African Cup of Nations (CAN) taking place this summer in Morocco. The roster features 24 Black Queens, including the forward Princella Adubea.

SUMMARY
The coach of Ghana’s Black Queens, Lars Kim Björkegren, has announced the final list of 24 players selected to compete in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which has been postponed to this summer.
The squad includes three goalkeepers, eight defenders, seven midfielders, and six forwards. The team is led by the iconic captain Portia Boakye, while Abigail Kofi Kim does not feature in the final squad.
Five local players from the Ghana Women’s Premier League were called: Kerrie McCarthy, Afi Amenyaku, Comfort Yeboah, Nancy Amoah, and Wasiima Mohammed.
Drawn into Group C, the Black Queens will face a challenging group including the reigning champions, South Africa, as well as Mali and Tanzania. The tournament will take place from July 5 to 26, 2025.
