Unlimited Internet Canal Box arrives in Akpakpa: fiber optic installation now 00 FCFA
CANALBOX Benin announces an exceptional promotion with free fiber installation from December 1 to 31, 2025. The brand is simultaneously expanding its coverage to Akpakpa to offer thousands of families an unlimited, stable and ultra-fast connection.

SUMMARY
The holiday season starts on a spectacular note for digital users in Benin. At a press briefing held this Wednesday, December 3, 2025 in Ségbèya, CANALBOX Benin revealed the free installation, the network extension to Akpakpa and reiterated its ambition to become “the preferred fixed intermediation offer of Beninese people.” This commercial push comes seven months after the official launch of the Canal Box service in Benin.
“Since we arrived, people have been telling us that we have become the preferred fixed intermediation offer of Beninese people. It’s not us saying it, it’s them,” said Yacine Alao, Managing Director of GVA Benin.
From December 1 to 31, the installation fee normally set at 10,000 FCFA drops to 0 francs. A complete waiver, including the box, intended to make fiber access more inclusive ahead of the holidays. “Santa Claus came to us early,” said Moumine Wologan, Head of Communications. He explained that the brand wanted to allow all families to enjoy ultra-fast Internet without financial constraints.
This offer applies to all already covered areas, notably Akpakpa, which is now officially open to fiber as of this December.
Akpakpa connected: Canal Box fiber gains ground
After Godomey, Agla, Ita, Kouhounou, Menontin, Calavi and Aïbatin, to name just a few neighborhoods, CANALBOX takes a new step with its arrival in Akpakpa. The Minontchou, Yagbé, Agbator and Ségbèya neighborhoods are among the first areas served, before a gradual expansion in the coming weeks. “Today, we have 162,000 households eligible for Canalbox fiber,” the management confirmed.
For Jaurès Akpah, Head of Design & Fibre, this scaling up is perfectly controlled. “The more subscribers we have, the more measures we will take to satisfy them. A network is alive, it evolves, and we will move at the same pace as demand,” he reassured.
Two plans suited to usage: 50 Mbps or 200 Mbps
CANALBOX sticks to its simplicity strategy, with only two plans:
- CANALBOX Start – 15,000 FCFA/month – 50 Mbps
- CANALBOX Premium – 30,000 FCFA/month – 200 Mbps
A speed that allows streaming, remote work, online gaming and simultaneous downloads, with no data cap. “Some gamers tell us they’re now winning all their matches since they got Canalbox,” Moumine Wologan remarked.
Users can check their eligibility directly from the CANALBOX app, available for free on the Play Store and iOS. Just locate your home, get a building code and share it with a Canalbox agent identifiable by their pink T‑shirt, or by calling 7044. “Our mission is clear: to enable every Beninese household to access unlimited, stable and ultra-fast internet at the best price,” Yacine Alao said.
As digital usage explodes in Benin, the operator aims to establish itself as a major player in domestic ultra‑high‑speed broadband.
