American rapper Chris Brown was taken into custody early Thursday morning at a luxury hotel in Manchester in connection with a bottle attack that occurred at a London nightclub.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police arrested the 36-year-old artist shortly after 2:00 a.m. at the Lowry Hotel. The arrest stems from an incident that took place on February 19, 2023, at Tape nightclub in Hanover Square, Mayfair, where Brown is alleged to have assaulted music producer Abe Diaw.

“A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm,” a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed.

“He remains in custody. The arrest follows an incident at a Hanover Square venue on February 19, 2023,” the spokesperson added.

Brown is currently being held at a local police station for questioning as the investigation continues.
