“I’m bored,” Omah Lay laments being single
Nigerian singer Omah Lay revealed on Snapchat that being single was weighing on him more and more, mentioning a period of boredom and personal fragility.
Nigerian Afrobeats star Omah Lay recently spoke about his weariness with being single. The performer of Boy Alone shared on Snapchat his feeling of loneliness, explaining that the situation was becoming « boring ». « Yeah, I don’t have a girlfriend. It’s become a boring activity lately », he wrote on the social network.
These revelations come shortly after the singer admitted to experiencing a depressive relapse, without specifying whether his romantic situation was related. In 2023, during an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra, Omah Lay had already discussed his romantic past, confessing that his « only regret in life » was having been in a relationship with his ex-partner, Bright. « If I could go back in time, I would never have been with her », he said.
Since the start of his career, the 27-year-old artist has always kept his private life to himself, preferring to let his music speak for him. He has never hidden either that fame had taken a toll on his mental health, explaining that his sudden rise to fame made him « unstable ».
