The document will be submitted for examination by deputies during the next budget session, scheduled in the coming weeks.

As republican tradition dictates, members of the executive will go to the Palais des Gouverneurs in Porto-Novo to defend the main lines of their budget proposals. They will need to convince the National Assembly of the soundness of the choices made, particularly regarding public spending and sectoral priorities.

Through this new draft budget, the executive intends to continue its policy of strategic investments in the social sector, infrastructure modernization, as well as in other key sectors of the national economy.

As a reminder, the state budget for 2025 amounted to 3,551 billion FCFA, an 11% increase compared with 2024. One of the government’s stated goals was to reduce the poverty rate to 33.8% by the end of the current year.
