- Publicité-

A currency dealer was robbed in Tchaourou, Borgou department, on Wednesday March 19, 2025. Four as yet unidentified gunmen succeeded in seizing a sum estimated at 5 million FCFA, leaving several people injured.

The exact circumstances of the robbery remain unclear, but according to initial reports, the assailants targeted a cashier carrying a large sum of money. In the middle of the operation, they violently assaulted their victim before seizing his funds.

As they fled, the criminals also injured several people present at the scene. The local police station was alerted and immediately launched an investigation to identify and arrest the perpetrators of this criminal act.

Faced with this rise in insecurity, the local authorities are calling on merchants and foreign exchange professionals to redouble their vigilance and opt for secure transaction solutions to limit the risk of attacks. In the meantime, the hunt is on for bank robbers to put them out of action.
