Benin: CENA receives the digitized voter list
The electoral process has reached a new stage in Benin. The National Agency for the Identification of Persons (Anip) officially handed over the Computerized Electoral List (LEI) to the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENA) on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.

The ceremony took place at the CENA headquarters, in the presence of President Sacca Lafia, Anip Director General Aristide Guy Adjinacou Gnahoui, members of the electoral council, technicians from both institutions, and several journalists.
This handover takes place in accordance with the electoral calendar. Article 17 of law No. 2024-13 of March 15, 2024 states that the electoral list must be delivered sixty days before the holding of the first ballot of the electoral year.
In his speech, Aristide Guy Adjinacou Gnahoui praised the quality of the collaboration between Anip and CENA. He emphasized the rigor and transparency that characterized the LEI’s development process. In his words, “this handover marks the culmination of serious, collective work.”
The president of CENA, Sacca Lafia, expressed his satisfaction that the deadline was met. He praised Anip for its promptness and the quality of the work delivered.
The receipt of the Computerized Electoral List constitutes a key stage in the electoral process ahead of the municipal and legislative elections in January 2026. It paves the way for the operational phase, enabling CENA to have a reliable tool for planning and managing electoral operations.
