Struck by a hamstring injury during Benin’s match against Egypt in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Beninese forward Tosin Aiyegun of FC Lorient will be unavailable for three to four weeks, a setback confirmed by his coach Olivier Pantaloni.

Setback for Tosin Aiyegun. The Beninese international forward for FC Lorient will have to observe a period of forced rest after injuring his hamstrings during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. He was struck during the Benin vs Egypt Round of 16 match, the Lorient forward will be unavailable for three to four weeks, confirmed his coach, Olivier Pantaloni, on Thursday at a press conference. This absence is expected to deprive the Breton club of one of its major attacking weapons for almost a month.
Having had a good tournament despite his team’s elimination, the 26-year-old forward thus sees his momentum abruptly halted as he returns to his club. At Lorient, the medical staff has already put in place a treatment protocol to allow the player to come back in the best possible condition. The priority now is full recovery, with no risk, before a progressive return to competition.
