Liverpool: “Arne Slot must bench Mohamed Salah if he wants to save his job”
Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann believes Arne Slot must drop Mohamed Salah to the bench if he wants to save his job after the heavy defeat to PSV (1-4) in the Champions League midweek.

Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann has called on coach Arne Slot to remove Mohamed Salah from his starting XI. According to him, the Dutch coach is putting his job at risk by continuing to start the Egyptian winger.
Hamann sharply criticised Salah for his lack of defensive effort during the heavy 4-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven at Anfield midweek in the Champions League. “There comes a time when you have to be able to turn the page on certain players, even senior figures. Slot must choose: get sacked with Salah or try to save his job without him,” the former German international said. “On PSV’s second goal… Slot should have substituted him immediately. What he did is unacceptable.”
“For a player of Salah’s standing, it pains me to say it… but watching him let an opponent go by without the slightest effort to help the team is unacceptable,” he added to RTE Sport. Mohamed Salah had nonetheless been one of the major architects of Liverpool’s Premier League title last season.
