The criteria for selecting a partner in a romantic relationship change over time and with individual priorities. Far from advocating the importance of financial assets in choosing a mate, Nigerian celebrity Tiwa Savage recently spoke out to express a viewpoint that focuses more on emotional balance and mutual connection.

Tiwa Savage, who adeptly uses her influence among young women through her strong social media presence, suggests that true harmony in love lies in emotional compatibility and the richness of personal exchanges rather than financial security. She draws her convictions from personal experience and asserts that, despite being financially independent, her search for a partner is not driven by the abundance of resources but by the desire to find someone who shares her passion, her dynamism, and is capable of intellectually and emotionally stimulating her.

It’s not that I’m just looking for a guy who has money because I have my own money. I just need a guy who can match my energy and charisma and also do it in the right way. If a guy can handle and stimulate me energetically, I wouldn’t mind whether he has money or not. Ladies, a guy who can handle you and stimulate you properly is better than a guy who has money, so that’s what you should look for in a man,” she says.

Moreover, Tiwa Savage’s advice encourages young women to define their own standards and to prioritize qualities that truly count in a relationship. Rather than focusing solely on financial status, she advocates looking for partners who can bring emotional fulfillment and shared excitement to a romantic relationship.
