The 19th matchday of the Benin Football Championship delivered on all fronts this weekend, with tight matches and increasingly important stakes in the title race. Leading the championship, Buffles FC confirmed their status by winning on ASVO FC’s pitch (1-0) on Saturday, thus consolidating their first place.

In the same breath, Loto-Popo FC ensured the essentials against Hodio FC (1-0), while Espoir FC delivered the weekend’s attacking performance by dominating AS SOBEMAP FC (3-1). For its part, ASPAC FC went to Ayéma FC’s pitch to claim a precious victory (1-0). In Abomey, Dynamo d’Abomey edged Dragons FC (2-1) in a hard-fought duel.

Sunday, the pressure remained at its peak. Dadjè FC surprised USS-Kraké (1-0), while Damissa FC secured an away win against Bani Gansè FC (1-0). A strong operation also for Coton FC, authoritatively defeating US Cavaliers (2-0). Finally, AS Cotonou scraped a short but valuable victory on the pitch of JS Pobè FC (1-0). In the standings, Buffles still lead the discussions with 38 points, closely followed by Coton FC (37 points). AS SOBEMAP completes the podium with 37 points as well, while AS Cotonou (35 points) and ASPAC (34 points) remain in the hunt.
