AFRIMMA 2026: Eno Barony wins a second title among female rappers
The Ghanaian rapper returns to the top of the AFRIMMA six years after her first trophy in the same category.
Eno Barony has won the award for Best Female Rapper at the AFRIMMA 2026, held on September 12 in Dallas, United States. The Ghanaian artist secures her second trophy in this category, six years after her first victory.
The official rankings placed her ahead of seven other artists: Rosa Ree, Bombshell Grenade, Freda Rhymz, Moozlie, Ssaru, Ami Yerewolo, and Candy Bleakz.
Eno Barony had previously won the same distinction at the 2020 edition. This new award confirms her second personal victory at the AFRIMMA in the female rap category.
Ghana was also recognized with DopeNation being named Best African Group. The duo joins Eno Barony among the two Ghanaian winners highlighted after the ceremony.
The 2026 edition marked the return of the AFRIMMA after a two-year hiatus. The organizers combined the awards ceremony with a music festival dedicated to artists from the continent and the diaspora.
The awards list includes 41 distinctions. Fally Ipupa was named Artist of the Year, Davido won Album of the Year with 5ive, while BNXN and Sarz took home the Song of the Year title. Ivorian artist Didi B received the Francophone Public Award.
