Barça: Rodri opens the door to a potential arrival of Julian Alvarez
Former teammate of Julian Alvarez at Manchester City, Rodri would not be opposed to the idea of reuniting with the Argentine forward at FC Barcelona. The Spanish midfielder has even clearly expressed his enthusiasm at the prospect of seeing the Atlético de Madrid player join Catalonia.
Rodri did not hide his admiration for Julian Alvarez. Now reunited at FC Barcelona, could the two men once again play under the same jersey? The Spanish midfielder has certainly opened the door to this possibility. When asked by Mundo Deportivo about the prospect of recruiting the Atlético de Madrid forward, Rodri was unequivocal. “Would I recruit him here? Of course,” he replied.
The 2024 Ballon d’Or is well aware of the qualities of the Argentine international. The two players shared the Manchester City locker room for two seasons, a period that allowed Rodri to gauge the potential of his former teammate. “ I think he’s a sensational player. I would take him here without hesitation ,” the midfielder continued. And Rodri does not hold back in praising Alvarez: “ I was lucky to play with him for two years, and I think he’s an incredible player, really incredible .” The name of Julian Alvarez has regularly circulated around Barcelona, but Atlético de Madrid does not seem willing to part with their Argentine forward. Despite this interest, the Madrid club ultimately closed the door on a move to Catalonia.
