Ghana: M.anifest addresses the hatred poisoning musical rivalries

Ghanaian rapper M.anifest has condemned the toxicity that accompanies certain musical rivalries on social media. In a message posted on Sunday, September 13, 2026, on X, he argued that “stan culture” creates more divisions than it adds value to the music scene.

“Stan culture is a net minus for the culture,” the artist wrote. M.anifest finds rivalries acceptable in music but urges fan communities to remove hatred from their interactions.

This statement comes after a recent public exchange between Sarkodie and Stonebwoy. On September 7, Sarkodie asked SarkNation to support his music without attacking other artists. Stonebwoy then questioned the consistency of this call, before Sarkodie assured that his message was not aimed at any fellow artist.

However, M.anifest does not name either Sarkodie or Stonebwoy in his post. His intervention focuses on the behavior of fandoms and the possibility of maintaining artistic rivalries without turning them into campaigns of hostility.
