The Disciplinary Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) sanctioned Samuel Eto’o following the incidents that occurred during the CAN 2025 quarter-final between Morocco and Cameroon, played last weekend in Rabat.

In a statement published early Thursday on its official website, the continental body said that the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation had been found guilty of a serious fault. CAF regards the former Cameroonian international as having violated the sportsmanship principles defined in Article 2, paragraph 3, of its Statutes. Samuel Eto’o was also found to have violated Article 82 of CAF’s Disciplinary Code, relating to misconduct, for his conduct during this match.

As a result, CAF imposed a four-match suspension in its official competitions, along with a US$20,000 fine. For the record, Cameroon were eliminated by Morocco (2-0) at the end of this quarter-final.
