Kate Middleton returns to the hospital that treated her for cancer and thanks her teams

Kate Middleton returned on Friday, September 11, 2026, to the Royal Marsden in London. During this surprise visit, the Princess of Wales met with patients and caregivers, expressing her gratitude to the institution for the support she received during her treatment.

At 44 years old, the wife of Prince William emphasized that medical support and complementary care played a significant role in her journey. She described her commitment as a way to give back to the hospital, where she has become a co-patron alongside the Prince of Wales.

The visit also allowed the princess to learn about the use of funds raised through the National Three Peaks Challenge, which she completed in June. In less than 24 hours, she climbed Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon to support the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

The funds raised are intended to contribute to the development of a center dedicated to the well-being and recovery of patients.

A meaningful return

Kate stressed the importance of holistic support when treatments disrupt daily life. She explained that nature, a good diet, and sustainable support made a difference in her own journey.

The princess announced in March 2024 that she was undergoing preventive chemotherapy following an abdominal procedure. She indicated in January 2025 that she was in remission, before gradually resuming her public engagements.

The Royal Marsden has held a special place in her activities since then. Her sporting challenge in June was presented as a way to highlight the physical and emotional consequences of a serious diagnosis and the needs of patients during and after treatment.
