Drama in Calavi: tragic discovery of the decomposed bodies of a couple in Kansounkpa
A wave of emotion has swept through the Kansounkpa neighborhood in the municipality of Abomey-Calavi. The lifeless bodies of a man and his wife, in an advanced state of decomposition, were discovered in their bedroom on Thursday, August 6, 2026, near the local General Education College (CEG).
According to Bip Radio, it was a foul and persistent odor emanating from the home that raised the concerns of the neighbors and alerted the relevant services. When they intervened in the locked dwelling, rescue and security teams made the heartrending discovery of a two-year-old child living alongside the remains of his parents.
For now, the exact causes of the couple’s death remain undetermined. Arrangements for the care of the young survivor have been immediately organized, while law enforcement has opened an investigation to determine the precise circumstances of this tragedy.
