CAF Cup: ASPAC secures victory over The Panthers FC (3-1) in the first leg of the first round
ASPAC has successfully launched its African campaign. The Beninese club defeated The Panthers FC (3-1) on Thursday in Douala during the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup 2026-2027, taking a significant advantage ahead of the return leg.

ASPAC can smile. In their debut in the Confederation Cup, the Beninese representative achieved an excellent result by winning on the pitch of The Panthers FC (3-1). The match took place at the Japoma Stadium in Douala, Cameroon, as the Equatorial Guinean club did not have a certified venue to host this continental fixture. Despite this particular context, the Beninese showed great character.
Trailing after the Panthers opened the scoring in the 28th minute, ASPAC gradually regained control of the match. The port club made the difference upon returning from the locker room by scoring three goals in the 58th, 70th, and 88th minutes. With this away victory, ASPAC finds itself in an ideal position ahead of the second leg of this double confrontation. The Beninese team will now need to finish the job in the return match, scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, at the Kégué Stadium in Lomé. Qualification for the next round would allow the Beninese club to continue its continental journey with increased confidence.
