This duo has resurfaced on the runways of Prada, Celine, Balenciaga, and Carolina Herrera, and has also been spotted in the outfits of Dua Lipa and Zoey Deutch.

The trend accelerated at the start of the school year. In early September, Glamour highlighted this palette heavily influenced by the 1980s, while Marie Claire noted red and purple among the color combinations now embraced by celebrities following their appearances on the catwalks.

What makes this pairing interesting is less about a rule of color theory and more about its visual balance. A tomato red adds brightness, while a grape or plum purple provides depth. The two colors can coexist without an outfit appearing overloaded, as long as the cuts and accessories are allowed to breathe.

In the Beninese climate, the duo benefits from remaining light.
