Egypt

Egypt is a bridge between North-East Africa and the Middle East, and its history dates back to the time of the pharaohs. Millennia-old monuments line the banks of the fertile Nile Valley, including the Sphinx and the colossal pyramids of Giza. The city of Luxor is home to the Karnak Temple and its hieroglyphs, as well as the tombs in the Valley of the Kings. Cairo, the capital, is full of Ottoman sites, such as the Mohammed Ali Mosque and the Egyptian Museum with its treasures of antiquities.
