World Cup 2026: Senegal’s squad with Sadio Mané

Senegal’s coach, Pape Thiaw, revealed an extended list of 28 players for the 2026 World Cup, hosted in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Much anticipated, this selection confirms the presence of Sadio Mané, who is expected to play in the last World Cup of his career despite questions raised after the last AFCON. The attacking line of the Lions looks particularly robust with Nicolas Jackson, Iliman Ndiaye, Ismaïla Sarr, and Assane Diao. The return of Bamba Dieng, who has been revitalized with FC Lorient, is also one of the highlights of this list.

The surprise comes from young Bara Sapoko Ndiaye, recently seen with the first team of FC Bayern Munich. In defense and midfield, Senegal will rely on experienced players like Kalidou Koulibaly, Idrissa Gana Gueye, and Édouard Mendy. However, two players will leave the group after the preparation.
