In an interview with Jorge Valdano, Lamine Yamal revealed the two La Liga teams he particularly enjoys watching play. The FC Barcelona winger mentioned Real Betis and Villarreal, which are far from being the main rivals of the Catalan club.
Lamine Yamal did not hesitate when it came to naming the La Liga teams he enjoys watching the most. In an interview with Jorge Valdano on the show Universo Valdano, broadcast on Movistar+, the Spanish international specifically mentioned Real Betis and Villarreal. “In La Liga, those are the teams I prefer to watch play,” said the 19-year-old winger.
A choice that may come as a surprise, since neither the Andalusian club nor the Villarreal team are among Barça’s main rivals in the title race. For several years, Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid have been regarded as the two major rivals of the Catalan club on the national stage.
In recent seasons, FC Barcelona has indeed taken the upper hand over its Madrid rivals. The Catalan club has won the last two Spanish championships, notably ahead of Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid.
