La Liga: Ronald Koeman pushes Barça to keep Rashford
Impressed by Marcus Rashford’s performances in the Clasico against Real Madrid, Ronald Koeman believes that FC Barcelona would be making a grave mistake by not exercising the purchase option on the striker loaned from Manchester United.

Ronald Koeman has strongly urged FC Barcelona to exercise Marcus Rashford’s purchase option during the upcoming summer transfer window. Loaned from Manchester United FC this season, the English international has again shone in the Clasico won by Barça against Real Madrid on Sunday. Rashford had perfectly started the Catalans by opening the scoring from a free kick in the early minutes of the match. The Blaugrana club would have an option to buy estimated at €30 million, but no final decision has yet been made regarding the future of the 28-year-old player.
Impressed by the striker’s performance against Real, Koeman believes that Barcelona would commit a grave error by letting Rashford leave at the end of his loan. “If Barcelona lets him return to Manchester United after this season, the club could regret it for a long time,” the Dutch coach reportedly told AS. The former Netherlands manager considers that the amount set for a permanent transfer represents a real opportunity in the current market. “Spending €30 million for a player with his experience, his profile and his attacking impact is almost a no-brainer today,” he added.
