Market: Lewandowski makes a surprise return to Barcelona

FC Barcelona could try an astonishing reversal. After leaving this summer following several seasons in the Catalan jersey, Robert Lewandowski has since joined Chicago Fire in MLS. However, his American adventure could be cut shorter than expected. According to Fabrizio Romano, a transfer market expert, Barcelona’s management is seriously contemplating reconnecting with the American franchise to explore the conditions for a short-term loan.

This option could be activated if Barça fails to finalize the arrival of its main offensive targets in the closing days of the transfer window. Coach Hansi Flick would be in favor of bringing back the Polish international, whom he would view as a backup solution for an additional season. No official proposal has yet been made, but the matter is now being taken seriously internally.

Barça is looking for a solution in attack

The Catalan club must cope with the departure of Ferran Torres, who has transferred to Paris Saint-Germain. At the same time, negotiations for Julián Álvarez, still under contract with Atlético de Madrid, are reportedly not progressing as hoped.

In this context, the possibility of Lewandowski’s return, as surprising as it may be, could offer an immediately operational solution to Flick. After leaving Barça this summer, the Pole could very quickly find his way back to Camp Nou.
