Guinea: Upon returning from the UN, Mamadi Doumbouya calls for national unity

Guinean President Mamadi Doumbouya returned to Conakry on Friday, September 25, 2026, after attending the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Upon his return, the head of state called for national unity and social cohesion in a message broadcast on his official channels. He emphasized the “one and indivisible” nature of the Republic of Guinea.
His arrival prompted a gathering of supporters and sympathizers along the route from the airport to Kaloum. Security measures had been put in place ahead of his return.
Mamadi Doumbouya traveled to New York to participate in the United Nations General Assembly, three years after his previous in-person attendance at this annual meeting.
