Nations League: Mbappé leaves the French squad after knee injury in Turkey

Kylian Mbappé has left the French national team camp after sustaining a knee injury on Friday, September 25, 2026, during the 1-0 victory against Turkey in the Nations League.

The French captain scored the only goal of the match in the 54th minute, assisted by Michael Olise. He received treatment immediately after his goal, attempted to continue playing, but had to be substituted a few minutes later.

The French Football Federation stated that the forward is suffering from a knee tendon injury and will return to Madrid. Zinédine Zidane explained that the knee showed signs of swelling and that the staff would not take any risks with the Real Madrid player.

Mbappé increased his record to 67 goals for the French team before his exit. His unavailability for the remainder of the camp is now confirmed.
