Future Awards Africa 2026: Five figures from the continent at the helm

The Future Awards Africa will entrust its 20th edition to five presenters from five different countries across the continent. Genoveva Umeh, Idris Sultan, Priscilla Kayira, Resego Motlhokathari, and Claudia Nasibwa will lead the ceremony scheduled for November 2026 at the Balmoral Events Centre in Lagos, Nigeria.

The selection brings together personalities from film, television, radio, and digital creation. Genoveva Umeh will represent Nigeria, while actor and producer Idris Sultan will represent Tanzania. Malawi will be represented by host Priscilla Kayira, Botswana by presenter and content creator Resego Motlhokathari, and Kenya by actress and master of ceremonies Claudia Nasibwa.

The organization unveiled this team on September 14. It presents this five-voice format as a first for the ceremony, aiming to give its anniversary edition a more continental dimension.

For Genoveva Umeh, this nomination also marks a return to the TFAA universe. The Nigerian actress won the performance award in 2024. Two years later, she returns to the event stage in the role of presenter.

This 20th edition will have the theme “Celebrating the Redefiners: Africa’s AI Generation.” The organizers aim to highlight young Africans who are using technology, creativity, and innovation to transform their sectors.

Nominations are open to the public for African candidates aged 18 to 33, in fields including entrepreneurship, technology, governance, media, and creative industries.
