Ghana: Kudus returns after seven months, Gyamerah and Donkor earn first call-ups to the Black Stars

Mohammed Kudus makes his return to the Black Stars after a seven-month absence, while Jan Gyamerah and Ronald Donkor receive their first call-ups to the Ghanaian national team. Carlos Queiroz has included them in a squad of 24 players selected for the first two matchdays of the CAN 2027 qualifiers.

Kudus missed the 2026 World Cup due to an injury that sidelined him for seven months. Now back in action with Tottenham, the attacking midfielder is among the key returns announced by the Ghana Football Association.

Queiroz has also called up Jan Gyamerah from SV Elversberg and Ronald Donkor from the New York Red Bulls for the first time. Defender Nathaniel Adjei returns to the squad after nearly a year away, along with Ibrahim Osman and Ibrahim Sulemana.

Ghana will kick off its qualification campaign on September 24 in Bouaké against Côte d’Ivoire. The Black Stars will then host Gambia on September 29 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

This international window will continue with a friendly match against Morocco, scheduled for October 4 in Tangier. It will mark Queiroz’s first continental qualification gathering since the 2026 World Cup.
