CCI Bénin: 6.6 billion FCFA budget for 2027, including 2.1 billion for investment
The CCI Benin has reviewed and approved its 2027 budget proposal, set at 6.6 billion FCFA. Investment is expected to absorb 2.1 billion, with anticipated results in formalization, employment, and businesses across the 77 municipalities.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Benin held its second ordinary session on Friday, September 18, 2026, in Cotonou, to review and vote on its 2027 budget proposal. The budget is set at 6.6 billion FCFA, with 2.1 billion allocated for investments.
The oversight body has called for a transparent execution of the 2.1 billion FCFA and aims to reduce operational costs in favor of investment. The Minister of Internal Trade and Economic Formalization, Alimatou Shadiya Assouman, also requested improvements in the collection of Chamber contributions in coordination with the General Directorate of Taxes.
The government expects measurable results regarding the formalization of activities and job creation. The actions of the CCI should primarily target small traders, young entrepreneurs, and women in processing, according to the roadmap presented to the consular representatives.
The territorial dimension is also part of the requirements set for the institution. The Chamber is expected to extend its interventions to all 77 municipalities in Benin, beyond the main economic hubs, to bring its services closer to businesses and local economic actors.
The president of CCI Benin, Arnauld Akakpo, assured that the institution would leverage its territorial network and expertise to support the formalization and modernization of domestic trade. He presented the Chamber as a link between public policies and the daily needs of businesses.
The budget proposal was reviewed and approved by the consular assembly during this second ordinary session. The budget allocates 6.6 billion FCFA for the 2027 fiscal year, with 2.1 billion FCFA earmarked for investments and an expected coverage of the 77 municipalities.
