Death of Sonia Agbantou: Autopsy results confirm a natural death
The circumstances surrounding the death of Sonia Agbantou, a life coach, presenter, and rising figure in Benin’s digital media, has now been revealed.

SUMMARY
The autopsy results, made public on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, confirm that the former presenter died of natural causes in Dijon, France, on the morning of Monday, June 23.
The announcement was made by Abib Agbantou, the deceased’s brother. According to him, no suspicious elements were found by the forensic doctors, thereby ruling out the alarming hypotheses of poisoning, violence, or criminal death that circulated on social media shortly after the death announcement.
The autopsy rules out any external intervention, thus putting an end to the numerous speculations surrounding this tragedy.
Sonia Agbantou, aged 39, was known for her straightforward style, onscreen charisma, and commitment towards cultural and spiritual reconnection. Present on both television sets and digital platforms like TikTok, she recently shared her return to indigenous traditions, suggesting a spiritual turning point in her life.
Her sudden death, when there were no visible signs of illness, deeply shocked the public. Some close sources even claim that she told a friend a few days before her death: “Pray for me,” without further details. This last message, now reinterpreted, continues to fuel emotions.
A voice falls silent, a light that remains
Born in Benin, Sonia Agbantou has over the years emerged as one of the most followed and appreciated female faces in the Beninese media sphere. Through her shows, engaging live sessions, and views on sometimes taboo topics, she managed to unite a large community of women, youth, and Africans from the diaspora in search of identity and spiritual guidance.
Having worked with several radio and TV channels in the country, she recently retrained as a life coach, then declared priestess, advocating a reconnection with African ancestral values.
Since the announcement of her death, tributes have multiplied on social media: messages of gratitude, prayers, photo montages, memory videos… Internet users, both anonymous or public figures, have praised her authenticity, her fighting spirit, and her unique aura.
The date and arrangements for the funeral are not yet known at this time. But already, the void left by Sonia Agbantou, between traditional media and digital influence, seems immense.
