Copa del Rey: Real and Atlético make it to the Round of 16

At least twelve clubs have already punched their ticket to the Copa del Rey Round of 16 after the Round of 32 matches played Wednesday across Spain. Unfazed, Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid did their part, beating Talavera and Atlético Baleares respectively, thus confirming their qualification for the next round.

At the same time, Osasuna, Albacete, Cultural Leonesa, Racing and Alavés also did the job by winning their matches. Those teams join Barcelona, Deportivo La Coruña, Elche, Real Sociedad and Valencia, already qualified for the competition’s Round of 16.

However, the Round of 32 phase isn’t completely finished yet. More matches are scheduled for Thursday, and their winners will complete the Round of 16 lineup, promising a continuation of the competition that’s just as intense and closely contested.
