National Assembly of Benin: convocation of the second extraordinary session for September 7, 2026

The Governors’ Palace in Porto-Novo is preparing to resume parliamentary activity. In a radio-television broadcast released this Wednesday, September 2, 2026, the President of the National Assembly, Professor Joseph Fifamin Djogbenou, summoned all deputies of the tenth legislature for the opening of the second extraordinary session of the year.

The proceedings will open on Monday, September 7, starting at exactly 10 a.m. Two major items are on the agenda for this parliamentary reopening outside the ordinary session: the formal opening of the session and, above all, the review followed by the adoption of the institution’s budget bill for the 2027 fiscal year.
