Champions League: Munich to host 2028 final, Camp Nou to host 2029
UEFA has awarded the 2028 and 2029 Champions League finals to Munich and Barcelona's Camp Nou, two venues already familiar with the prestigious European event.
UEFA awarded the 2028 and 2029 Champions League finals to Munich and Barcelona on Tuesday, September 15. The Executive Committee, meeting in Thessaloniki, selected the Munich Football Arena for 2028 and Camp Nou for the following edition.
Munich will thus host its third Champions League or European Cup final at this venue. The Bavarian stadium previously hosted the decisive match in 2012 and again in 2025.
Camp Nou will also welcome the final for the third time. The FC Barcelona stadium hosted the finals in 1989 and 1999; the 2029 event will take place thirty years after the last final held at the Catalan venue.
The schedule for the upcoming finals is now set through 2029. The 2027 edition is set to take place at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid, followed by Munich in 2028 and Barcelona in 2029.
During the same meeting, UEFA also selected Bucharest to host the 2028 Europa League final and Belgrade for the 2029 final. Turin will host the 2028 Conference League final, while Budapest will host the 2029 final.
