Serie A: Inter overturns Udinese 5-3 to join Roma at the top

James Abankwah opened the scoring with a header in the 9th minute, followed by Jurgen Ekkelenkamp doubling the visitors’ lead in the 16th minute. Inter responded before halftime: Carlos Augusto pulled one back with a long-range strike in the 26th minute, and Nicolò Barella equalized in the 35th.
The comeback was completed in the second half. Marcus Thuram put the Italian champions ahead in the 57th minute, followed by goals from Pio Esposito in the 67th and Ange-Yoan Bonny in the 79th. Idrissa Gueye reduced the deficit to 5-3 in stoppage time.
Inter and Roma now both have 12 points after four matches, with both clubs winning all their league games. Roma secured a 2-0 victory away at Torino, thanks to goals from Donyell Malen and Niccolò Pisilli.
The two co-leaders are set to face each other on Saturday at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Inter will arrive at this clash having scored 13 goals in their four Serie A matches, after producing another 27 shots and 50 touches in the opponent’s box against Udinese.
In other matches on Monday, Como defeated Parma 2-1 and currently sits in third place with 10 points after four games.
