Carolyna is preparing a new album alongside Monique Séka

Franco-Ivorian singer Carolyna is working on a new album and is already in the studio. The project was discussed on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in Abidjan during a meeting at the Ministry of Communication, which she attended with her mother, Monique Séka, and the president of the Union of Artists of Côte d’Ivoire (UNARTCI), Ken Adamo.

The Minister of Communication and government spokesperson, Amadou Coulibaly, made the meeting public on his social media. He indicated that Carolyna is working on the upcoming release of a new album, although no title, release date, or tracklist has been announced yet.

Monique Séka’s presence adds a familial dimension to this event. A historical figure in Ivorian afro-zouk, the singer accompanied her daughter during the meeting, while Amadou Coulibaly praised the artistic continuity between the two generations.

For several years, Carolyna has been building a career that intersects afro-pop and her family’s musical heritage. In July 2025, she notably revisited “Okaman,” a classic associated with Monique Séka, in a remix recorded with Jessy Matador and distributed on major streaming platforms.

A new step after “Okaman”

This cover served as a bridge between her mother’s repertoire and her own musical universe. The single, released on July 15, 2025, marked one of the first widely referenced releases under the name Carolyna and more clearly established her project within the francophone afro-pop landscape.

The meeting on September 16 was not solely focused on her album. Ken Adamo also presented several UNARTCI projects to the minister, including a national awareness tour announced with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Francophonie.

For Carolyna, the key takeaway is the advanced stage of work on this album. No release date or collaborations have been officially confirmed yet, but the project is now publicly acknowledged as being in the recording process.
