Sidaama Buna qualified for the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League on Sunday, September 13, 2026, by defeating Aiglons FC N’Djamena 3-0 in the return leg held in Ethiopia. The two teams had played to a 0-0 draw in the first leg in Chad.
The Ethiopian club advances with an aggregate score of 3-0. This victory sets up a second-round clash against Al-Hilal Omdurman, who qualified the day before by defeating Aigle Noir from Burundi.
Al-Hilal won their return match 1-0 after securing a 2-0 victory in the first leg. The Sudanese club thus confirmed their qualification with an aggregate score of 3-0.
The CAF had scheduled the return matches of the first preliminary round from September 11 to 13. Sidaama Buna was among the teams still to be decided after the 0-0 draw in the first leg, before making the difference in the return match.
The second preliminary round of the competition will take place from October 16 to 18 for the first legs, and from October 23 to 25 for the return legs, according to the official CAF schedule.
