Pyramids FC defeated Gor Mahia 5-1 on Sunday, September 13, at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo, securing their place in the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. The Egyptian club advances with an aggregate score of 7-1.

Walid El-Karti opened the scoring in the 27th minute, followed by Nasser Maher doubling the lead ten minutes later. Youssef “Obama” Ibrahim made it 3-0 just before halftime.

David Okoth pulled one back for Gor Mahia before the break. Pyramids then added two more goals in stoppage time through Mostafa “Ziko” Abdel-Raouf and Mahmoud “Zalaka” Abdel-Hafiz to seal the 5-1 victory.

The Egyptian champions had already won the first leg 2-0 in Kenya. These two victories bring their total to seven goals scored against one conceded over the two-legged tie.

CAF has confirmed Pyramids’ qualification for the second preliminary round, which will determine the clubs admitted to the league phase.
