The Confederation of African Football revealed the list of officials selected for the next Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026 in Morocco. Among the 73 referees chosen — including 28 centre referees, 31 assistant referees and 14 VAR specialists — Benin will once again have two representatives.

Already present at AFCON 2023 in Ivory Coast, centre referee Louis Houngnandandé and assistant referee Ulrich Éric Ayimavo have once again been selected by CAF to officiate at the major continental event. It’s a confirmation of the Beninese refereeing body’s professionalism and progress, increasingly recognized on the African stage.

As a reminder, AFCON 2025 will feature 24 teams, including Benin’s Cheetahs, who qualified and were drawn into a particularly tough Group D alongside Senegal, DR Congo and Botswana.
