World Cup 2026: France’s squad list, with Mbappé and Dembélé.
Didier Deschamps has announced the 26-man France squad for the 2026 World Cup, a group marked by the presence of Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé, as well as several strong selections and notable absences.

SUMMARY
Didier Deschamps has unveiled the 26-player list for the France squad for the 2026 World Cup. Not surprisingly, Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé will be the main attacking stars for France in this world tournament. Having scored 56 goals in the French jersey, Mbappé is now only outpaced by Olivier Giroud in the all-time top scorers list for the national team. Despite a recent thigh injury, the Real Madrid forward should take on the lead offensive role for the Blues.
On his side, Dembélé arrives with confidence after an exceptional season with Paris Saint-Germain, highlighted by a Champions League title and a Ballon d’Or won this year. The French attack will also include Michael Olise, Désiré Doué, Rayan Cherki, Bradley Barcola, Marcus Thuram, and Jean-Philippe Mateta. In defense, William Saliba, Jules Koundé and Ibrahima Konaté are among the core players selected.
Several bold selections nonetheless marked this list. Eduardo Camavinga and Randal Kolo Muani, who were part of the previous World Cup, are not part of the squad this time. In goal, Mike Maignan will be the number one. Robin Risser, who had never been called up before, has been included alongside Brice Samba, while Lucas Chevalier is absent from the squad. The Blues will begin their World Cup campaign against Senegal on June 16 in New Jersey, before facing Iraq and Norway in Group I.
