Real Madrid: Endrick held back by a muscle alert before the start of La Liga
Real Madrid has to deal with a small concern regarding Endrick. The Brazilian forward is suffering from a muscle overload and is expected to be rested for the upcoming friendly match against Schalke on Sunday.

Endrick’s summer preparation has been slightly disrupted. The 20-year-old forward is dealing with a muscle overload that will likely prevent him from participating in the friendly match scheduled for Sunday against Schalke. However, this absence is not considered a major concern by the Madrid staff. The club wants to avoid taking any risks with their player as the start of the season approaches. Endrick hopes to quickly return to the field and be available for the first match day of La Liga against Espanyol.
This physical alert comes as the Brazilian’s sporting situation has recently clarified. A loan departure had long been contemplated to allow him to gain playing time. AS Roma and Aston Villa had notably expressed interest in him. But José Mourinho had other plans. Convinced by the young forward’s performances during the preparation, the Portuguese coach has chosen to keep Endrick in his squad for the upcoming season.
The Madrid coach intends to give him more responsibilities and plans to utilize his versatility. Endrick could thus be used at the front of the attack, but also on the right side. The Brazilian will now need to take advantage of the upcoming training sessions to fully recover from this muscle overload. The goal is clear: to be operational from the kick-off of the new season and to confirm the promise shown during the preparation.
