Mbappé leaves Nike after 20 years to join On
Kylian Mbappé ends a twenty-year partnership with Nike to join the Swiss brand On, which is using this agreement to launch its football division with Thierry Henry at the helm.

Kylian Mbappé has left Nike after a twenty-year partnership to join On, the Swiss brand announced on Friday, September 18. The Real Madrid forward and captain of the French national team will become the face of On’s entry into football, following the brand’s development in running and tennis.
According to Reuters, the agreement includes a cash component and an equity stake, though the amount has not been disclosed. Mbappé will also collaborate with On’s development teams on future football products, giving him a role that extends beyond that of a mere advertising ambassador.
This change marks the end of a relationship that began in 2006 with Nike. Mbappé became one of the brand’s leading figures in football as he rose to prominence at Monaco, moved to Paris Saint-Germain, won the World Cup with France in 2018, and subsequently joined Real Madrid.
On is complementing this signing with the appointment of Thierry Henry as its football director. The former French striker will be involved in developing the new division, its products, and athlete relations. The brand has also brought in Swiss international Sydney Schertenleib from FC Barcelona to its football project.
The Swiss equipment manufacturer plans to launch its first football boots in 2027. The company, in which Roger Federer has invested, has primarily established itself in running before expanding into tennis and now tackling the football market.
In its statement, On presents Mbappé as a partner expected to contribute directly to product design. The first football boots from this new division are set to be released in 2027.
