Already compared to Messi since his dazzling debut with Barça, the young Spanish winger now wears the mythical number 10 left by the Argentine at the Catalan club, further strengthening the expectations placed on him.
Invited to speak about the future of world football at a recent event, Messi showed strong support for the Barcelona prodigy. «There is a new generation of extremely talented players with many years ahead of them», said the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, cited by Sport. «But if I had to choose a player based on his age, his current level and his potential, then it would be Lamine Yamal. For me, he is clearly above the others.»
