Cooperation: Talon on official visit to Brazil after a strategic stopover in Ivory Coast
The Beninese President Patrice Talon continues his diplomatic tour with a working visit to Brazil, marking a new step in strengthening the relationships between Cotonou and Brasilia.

SUMMARY
He landed in Brasilia, the federal capital of the South American giant, on an official plane this Wednesday.
Upon his arrival, Patrice Talon was welcomed by Clélio Nivaldo Crippa Filho, the head of the Middle East department at the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representing the Director of Africa and the Middle East, and the ambassador of Benin to Brazil, Boniface Vignon.
Strengthening a Dynamic South-South Cooperation
This visit is part of a strategic rapprochement between Benin and Brazil. For several years, the two countries have had cooperative ties in various sectors: agriculture, technical training, trade, and culture. The Beninese president’s trip aims to breathe new life into these historic partnerships and open new paths for collaboration.
High-level meetings are scheduled in Brasilia with political, economic, and institutional leaders. The discussions should focus on strengthening south-south cooperation; investment opportunities in Benin; the deployment of joint projects in the fields of agro-industry, energy, education, and infrastructure.
Before his visit to Brazil, President Patrice Talon was in Abidjan on Monday, where he met with his Ivorian counterpart Alassane Ouattara. According to the Ivorian presidency, the two heads of state discussed reinforcing bilateral relations as well as issues of regional stability, following the 67th ECOWAS conference of heads of state held in Abuja.
