Mauritania’s AS Douanes eliminated Hafia FC on Saturday, September 19, at the Stade du 28-Septembre in Conakry during the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup. The Mauritanians secured a 1-0 victory, advancing 3-2 on aggregate after the first leg ended in a 2-2 draw in Nouakchott.
Mouhsen Bodda scored the only goal in the second half with a long-range free kick. This strike proved decisive in a tightly contested match that remained close until the end.
Hafia failed to find an equalizer and exits the competition at this preliminary stage. AS Douanes continues its continental campaign after conceding two goals at home in the first leg.
The return match was originally scheduled for September 11 but was postponed. The Guinean Football Federation stated that the CAF Interclub Competitions Organizing Commission rescheduled it to September 19 in Conakry.
Belouizdad awaits in the next round
The qualification sends AS Douanes to the final qualifying round of the Confederation Cup, where the Mauritanian club will face CR Belouizdad in October.
