Soybean grain: the government kicks off the 2025–2026 campaign and confirms free pricing
The Beninese government has set the marketing framework for soybean grain for the 2025–2026 season.

According to the ministers in charge of Industry and Commerce and of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, the season officially opens on Friday, December 5, 2025, and will end on September 30, 2026.
Authorities say producer prices are no longer regulated. They now depend on market mechanisms, leaving room for fully free purchase and sale contracts between actors in the sector.
This decision aims to boost the sector, encourage healthy competition and promote better valuation of the product.
However, this contractual freedom does not exempt one from strict compliance with the rules in force. The two ministers remind that Law No. 2024-34 on the finance law for the 2025 fiscal year and Decree No. 2022-568 of October 12, 2022 remain fully applicable. The latter prohibits the export of soybean grain and sets out the modalities for implementing this measure, which also applies to raw cashew nuts.
Producers, buyers and processors are urged to align with these requirements to ensure a calm season that complies with the regulatory framework.
