Premier League: Agüero sees Arsenal crowned champions
Former Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero believes Arsenal, buoyed by the maturity of their squad and Mikel Arteta’s work, now have the weapons to end their long title drought.

The verdict is clear. Former Manchester City star Sergio Agüero believes Arsenal today possesses all the weapons to conquer the Premier League. Used to title battles during his Manchester years, the Argentine sees a new maturity in the Gunners. Their emphatic 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur last weekend reignited the machine after two draws and solidified their place at the top of the standings. The Londoners now hold a five-point lead, with City one game in hand, second on 56 points.
Speaking to Stake via Football 365, Agüero praised the solidity of the group led by Mikel Arteta:
“It isn’t a matter of mentality. Not anymore. The squad is complete, balanced and much more experienced than before.” The five-time English champions continue: “They have already been in this position and came close to the crown. Today, you can feel a stronger team mentally. The youngsters have grown, and the squad has been enriched with high-quality talents.”
Agüero also took the opportunity to highlight the work of the Spanish coach: “Arteta has shown that he is an excellent manager. He has built a group capable of competing at the highest level and of fighting every season for the title.” Having stayed in second place for three consecutive years — twice behind Manchester City and last season behind Liverpool — the Gunners are still chasing a title that has eluded them for more than two decades. But for Agüero, the signs are clear: Arsenal now seem equipped to go all the way.
