Nigerian house Nonnistics revealed the first silhouettes of “ASCEND,” its spring-summer 2027 collection, on Friday, September 11, ahead of a presentation scheduled for September 13 in New York. Designer Nonye Goodie-Obi is crafting a women’s wardrobe that contrasts sharp lines with fluid materials.

Images released by Vanguard Allure showcase soft silks paired with more architectural cuts, splashes of pictorial colors juxtaposed against black, and a cream dress accented with golden circular patterns. The collection avoids constant spectacle, focusing instead on the tension between movement and structure.

Nonye Goodie-Obi describes “ASCEND” as a reflection on personal evolution and the possibility of embracing multiple registers simultaneously. This concept is evident in pieces that transition from bold tailoring to softer volumes without altering the visual vocabulary.

This direction extends an identity already established by the brand. Nonnistics defines itself as a contemporary luxury house founded in Nigeria, with production supported by local artisans and tailors. Its current catalog blends evening gowns, structured ensembles, denim, and pieces designed for varied silhouettes.

The brand’s journey is already linked to New York. Founded by Nonye Goodie-Obi after a career in finance, it showcased a collection at New York Fashion Week in 2019, following its international debut at the Glitz Africa Fashion Week in Accra in 2018.
